Maintain CAD Print Borders
A Computer Assisted Drawing (CAD) print border is a layer of information around any 3D objects or report that you print.
Most of the CAD print border is made up of rectangles around images or text fields. Some of these rectangles and text fields have special properties that link to database values. For example, the largest rectangle is typically set to display the Drawing Viewport Area. Text fields may be set to:
- Fixed values, such as Site Name
- Calculated values, such as Average Burden
- Custom Properties—Default values can be overridden with custom values when the report is printed. See Print Viewport Objects.
Note: In an upgrade to DataBlast Ignite 2.9, any existing text strings for CAD print borders (that have values) are converted to custom properties with the Target of Mine Site, the Data Type of String and the Category of CAD Print Border Text. The Field Name, Display Name and Description indicate the CAD border and specific layout (P for portrait or L for landscape) if applicable. This specific configuration is to identify the converted text strings. New custom properties do not require this configuration in order to be used in a CAD print border.
CAD print borders are .vdml files. See File Formats.
Note: Contact Datamine or check your DataBlast installation package for a collection of CAD print borders.
