Dependency Layers

Dependency layers are used to categorize task dependencies into layers (groups). This allows you to manage task dependencies:

• control the display of task dependencies by switching layers on / off for viewing. The dependencies on a hidden layer is still active for scheduling, but will not be displayed on the Gantt chart.
• control the use of task dependencies in scheduling by switching layers on / off for viewing. This will actively change the schedules dates of tasks affected by these dependencies.

Using dependency layers in this way allows you to consider different sequencing scenarios in the same project by switching certain layers on / off.

You can also specify the display format of links on a layer - provided the Use colors defined here to draw dependencies option is set.
