Data Grids

A data grid displays a list of assets or other data; for example, in the Asset Browser or the Asset Explorer.

Keyboard Shortcuts

The following standard keyboard shortcuts are available in data grids:

  • Ctrl+X to cut
  • Ctrl+C to copy
  • Ctrl+V to paste
  • Delete to clear
  • Ctrl+Enter to add a new line

Note: The Ctrl+Z keyboard shortcut, which is common in many Windows applications to undo the last action, does not have any effect in LandTracker.

Rows in Data Grids

Each row represents an asset or other data record. If you click a row, detailed information displays in the Details Pane.

On the left-hand end of a row is the row selector.

If you right-click a row selector, the context menu includes options to Cut, Copy, Paste, Delete and Duplicate and Insert Row. These options may not all be available in every view.

Note: If you duplicate an asset, the asset's related data is not duplicated.

You can add comments to any data grid record. See Manage Data Grid Record Comments.

Columns in Data Grids

There are three types of columns in data grids:

  1. Template columns—Defined in the asset template.
  2. Non-template columns—In the LandTrack Data Service, but not included in sample tenement templates.
  3. 'Other' columns—Mostly used for support purposes. The IsLocked column is used to prevent changes by the LandTrack Data Service. See Stop LandTrack Data Service Updates for a Tenement.

You can select to display, hide or reorder any columns. See Customise the Column Display in a Data Grid.

You can also filter, sort and group the data in many columns. See Filter Data in a Data Grid, Sort Data in a Data Grid and Group Data in a Data Grid.

Cells in Data Grids

Editing Data

If a column header has a white background, you can edit the data in that column. The column headers of read-only columns have a pale orange background colour.

Double-click a cell to enable data entry in the data grid.

Copying and Pasting Data

You can copy and paste data between rows and cells in a data grid. You can also copy data from other external sources, such as spreadsheets and paste it into LandTracker.

If you right-click a cell in a data grid, the context menu includes options to Cut, Copy, Paste, Clear and Fill Down. When you use Fill Down, LandTracker copies the data in the top selected cell to the other selected cells below it. You can fill down multiple columns at once.
