Create a Shipment Without Using a Template

Security Note: You need the Allow new shipment despatch from explorer security right in the Despatches user group security rights group for this activity.

Activity Steps

  1. Perform one of the following steps:
    1. To create the shipment via the Shipment Explorer:
      1. Open the Shipment Explorer.
      2. Right-click in the Timetable tab and select New » Bulk Shipment from the menu.
    2. To create the shipment via the Solution Explorer:
      1. Select the Supply Chain panel in the Solution Explorer.
      2. Expand the Supply Chain » Business Areas node.
      3. Right-click a port location and select New » Shipment from the menu.

    The Shipment displays.

  2. Update the Shipment Identifier if required.
  3. Assign a Vessel/Ship to the shipment. Select from the vessels defined on the Transport panel of the Solution Explorer. To change the vessel after loading or unloading, see Change the Vessel Assigned to a Shipment.

MineMarket creates a vessel nomination for the shipment. Accept or Reject Vessel Nominations.

Note: The shipment cannot be loaded until a Vessel/Ship is assigned; neither can actual route times be entered. When you save the shipment, MineMarket validates whether the vessel is assigned to any other shipment. A vessel cannot be assigned to multiple shipments with overlapping active periods (that is, from the earliest date at the first route point to the latest date at the last route point). If no route has been specified at the time of saving the shipment, MineMarket uses the current date for this validation.

  4. Enter the Voyage Number if required.
  5. Select whether to Show Hold Names.
  6. Click Save.

Note: If the Shipment status definition exists, the shipment is assigned the initial status. This status definition controls whether the shipment is editable and selectable. See Status Definitions.

  7. Add a route to the shipment.
