Data Approval

In Reconcilor, data can be classified as Live or Approved. Live datasets reflect recent data imports and may still change as new imports arrive. Approved data is treated as finalised for reporting and cannot be changed without going through an unapproval process. For more information, see Approved, Live and Combined Datasets.

With the Data Approval module, you can approve a specific period of data for a location, which prevents further changes to that data and ensures its integrity and repeatability when used for reporting.

Data Approval Configuration

Before users can use the Data Approval screen to review and approve data, someone at your site with the required security permissions must set up the screen view. This process involves selecting any saved locked configurations to display for approval, then saving this view as a saved locked configuration. See Configure the Data Approval View.

The Data Approval screen view is made up of the configurations saved in Reconcilor's analysis screens; for example, the Trends Screen or Stockpile Analysis Screen. To be available for selection in Data Approval screen, a saved screen configuration must be set to Global and Locked. These properties can be updated from that screen's configuration toolbar or via the Analysis Configurations screen.

Note: Saved screen configurations from Dashboards Screen cannot be selected in the Data Approval screen. You also cannot select another saved screen configuration from the Data Approval screen; that is, you cannot nest an existing Data Approval screen configuration inside another view on that same screen.

Data Approval and Unapproval

Once the Data Approval screen has been set up for use, users with the required security permissions can review and approve data for a selected period and location.

Approval and unapproval behaviour across location hierarchies works as follows:

  • You can approve a single location or use Bulk Approve for a location hierarchy.
  • If your site has an All location option configured, you can use it for global approvals (your Datamine consultant can set this option).
  • When Bulk Approve is applied at a top-level location, approval cascades to child locations.
  • You can unapprove a selected location to return that scope of data to a live state.
  • Bulk Unapprove applies to the selected location scope only per action. It does not automatically cascade to parent locations, so multiple unapproval actions may be required to fully reverse approvals across a hierarchy.

Note: You can view a summary of approved and total datasets on the Data Overview Screen.
