Customize Toolbars

Enabling/disabling toolbars and other toolbar-related options

Toolbars

To access this dialog:

  • Right-click an empty menu bar area and select Customize, then select the Toolbars tab.

  • Right-click a toolbar icon and select Customize, then select the Toolbars tab

The Toolbars tab of the Customize dialog allows you to configure how toolbars are displayed in your application. It is recommended that you make a backup of your current toolbar profile before using the commands below:

This dialog contains the following fields:

Toolbars: this list, taking up the left side of the dialog can be used to enabled or disable any of the toolbars that are available in the current window. Select or clear a checkbox to show or hide the selected toolbar.

Reset: the Reset button will force the selected toolbar(s) to be shown in their default state, removing all custom changes.

Reset All: selecting this option will reset all toolbars throughout the application to system defaults.

Resetting all of your toolbars will force all toolbars to be viewed in their default state. This operation cannot be undone so it is recommended that you save your existing profile before attempting this operation (using theFormatribbon'sCustomize | State | Saveoption)and save your current layout to an XML format file. If you need to return to your custom toolbar settings, you can select theLoad...option in the same menu and select your saved file.

 

New: to create a new toolbar, select this option. You will be prompted for a toolbar name. When created, make sure your Toolbar is visible (ensure the checkbox next to the new description is enabled in the Toolbars list). You can now add commands/icons to your new toolbar using the Commands tab, e.g.:


 

Rename: After selecting (highlighting) a toolbar in the main list, you can use this option to rename it.

Delete: Delete a toolbar from your system using this command.
