Survey Database - ROM Base Surfaces
To access this menu:
-

ROM Base Surfaces - Data Usage
Any ROM Base Surfaces folder
within the Survey
Database will contain run-of-mine base surface overlays
based on data files that have been loaded from your Studio Survey
database (loaded local files
will never appear in this folder, only database-bound information).
Global and ROM-specific Data
Data of this type can be found at one of two levels in the Survey Database 'tree':
- Global: ROM data that can be accessed regardless of the current Rom setting. Data at this level will be used if data of the same type cannot be found (for the given survey date) at the ROM level.
- ROM: data at this level can only be accessed by reports run for a particular ROM. If an EOM ROM report is run for a given date, which doesn't exist at the ROM level, the Global level will be used instead. If nothing can be found at the global level, reporting will be cancelled.
Within each folder, one more date folders may appear. These represent the date associated with the data when it was added to the Survey Database.

You can load data from any date folder at any level, and even load surfaces from multiple dates to for a visual comparison.
This data is used in the generation of cut-and-fill stockpile volumes using the ROM reporting tool.
ROM Base Surfaces are added
to your Survey database using the Add to Database tool.
ROM Base Surfaces - Survey Database Locations
Depending on the chosen Data Scope, data will be found in the database at one of the following locations:
Survey Database
- (Path to Survey Database)
- ROM Base Surfaces (Global Data Scope)
- ROMs
- [ROM Name]

Each data folder will be further categorized by a date sub-folder. This will contain the data that relates to a particular generation date.
