Maintaining Locations

Overview

Location of a specific location type are preconfigured so that when samples for a job arrive in the laboratory, or when the samples of a job are containerised at the end of analysis and placed in store, the samples are linked to a specific location. Locations have a short name so that when a location path is displayed, it is not too long. Locations are flagged as active for sample tracking use.

This process is pertinent to laboratory managers and sample store personnel who configure the sample storage environment for the laboratory.

Process

Locations for sample tracking are maintained by the Sample Track application.

Locations are maintained using simple SCRUD (search, create, review, update, delete) functionality.
