Create Sub-Stope Shapes
The Stope Layout group of the Advanced screen controls how MSO structures the internal segmentation of shapes. You can choose whether to generate full stopes, sub-stopes, or both.
Sub-stopes divide a full stope into smaller pieces, which are particularly useful for scheduling, detailed design, or when modelling multiple drawpoints or blast segments within a stope.
Note: Creating sub-stope shapes is optional. If sub-stopes aren't configured, the resulting framework will comprise full, continuous stope bodies only, without shape subdivisions.
Activity steps
-
Define an MSO scenario, block model, orientation, framework and shapes.
-
Display the Advanced screen.
-
Expand the Stope Layout command group.
-
Check Create Full Stope Shapes.
-
Check Create Sub Stope Shapes.
-
Optionally check Optimize Sub Stope Shapes. This triggers an independent optimization pass during processing to refine the layout of sub-stopes within each tube.
-
Choose a Sub Stope Method:
-
Discrete Equal Proportions – See Use Discrete Equal Proportions.
-
Combination of Proportional Shapes – See Use Combination of Proportional Shapes.
-
Variable Sub-Stope Shapes – See Use Variable Sub-Stope Shapes.
-
Polygon Sub-Stope Shapes – See Use Polygon Sub-Stope Shapes.
