Create Sub-Stope Shapes

The Stope Layout group of the Advanced screen controls how MSO structures the internal segmentation of shapes. You can choose whether to generate full stopes, sub-stopes, or both.

Sub-stopes divide a full stope into smaller pieces, which are particularly useful for scheduling, detailed design, or when modelling multiple drawpoints or blast segments within a stope.

Note: Creating sub-stope shapes is optional. If sub-stopes aren't configured, the resulting framework will comprise full, continuous stope bodies only, without shape subdivisions.

Activity steps

  1. Define an MSO scenario, block model, orientation, framework and shapes.

  2. Display the Advanced screen.

  3. Expand the Stope Layout command group.

  4. Check Create Full Stope Shapes.

  5. Check Create Sub Stope Shapes.

  6. Optionally check Optimize Sub Stope Shapes. This triggers an independent optimization pass during processing to refine the layout of sub-stopes within each tube.

  7. Choose a Sub Stope Method:
