Use Discrete Equal Proportions
Note: This topic relates to the generation of sub-stope shapes during stope optimization with MSO.
The Discrete Equal Proportions sub-stoping method is best for evenly spaced designs or when stope symmetry is important. For example, you may wish to split each stope into two equal parts for blasting or scheduling.
In short, this method divides the stope evenly into custom U and V divisions. For example 2 U divisions and 1 V division = two side-by-side sub-stopes.
Activity steps
-
Define your MSO scenario, block model, economics, orientation and shapes.
-
Display the Advanced screen.
-
Check Stope Layout >> Create Full Stope Shapes and Create Sub Stope Shapes.
-
Expand Sub Stope Method and choose Discrete Equal Proportions.
-
Specify the number of subdivisions along the U axis using U Divisions.
-
Specify V Divisions.
-
Save your settings and continue defining Advanced stoping settings.
Note: Substoping methods are mutually exclusive. You can't use a combination of methods for the optimization run, but you may want to consider cloning your scenario, then changing the method to see the impact on output shapes.
