Approve Sample Results for an Assay Exchange

This activity is required if:

Security Note: You need the Allow the user to maintain contract fulfillments and Allow the user to select assays for assay exchange security rights in the Contracts domain security rights group for this activity.

Activity Steps

  1. Open the Sales Contract or Purchase Contract.
  2. Select the Contract Fulfilment node.
  3. Select the despatch order associated with the assay exchange. See Find Despatch Orders for Contract Fulfilment.
  4. Select the Analyte Values Selection tab.

This tab is only applicable if Default Laboratories are specified in the assay rules of the contract or if assay exchange factoring is configured. The Allow the user to select assays for assay exchange domain security right controls whether this tab displays.

  5. Click Retrieve Assays.

If multi-lab sampling or assay exchange factoring applies to any of the analytes in the assay exchange, this button is only enabled on the Analyte Values Selection tab.

The sample values for all laboratories are retrieved and the results that match the multi-lab settlement method of each analyte are included in the assay exchange.

Note: If certificate values are available, no sample values display because the certificate values will be used in the assay exchange.

  6. To update which laboratory results are included in the assay exchange:
    1. Select an analyte in the Analyte Settlement Rules table.
    2. In the Laboratory Samples Analyte Values table, perform one of the following steps:
      1. Right-click the column heading for the required laboratory or the Mean and select Select All from the menu.
      2. Right-click an individual laboratory result and select Select from the menu.
      3. Select a Selected Laboratory for an individual sample.

      MineMarket updates the:

      • Result for the sample from the multiple laboratories before any assay factoring if applicable
      • Value for the analyte, calculated as the weighted average of selected sample analyte values
    3. Edit the Factor and Buyer/Seller Result if required.

The factor is used to adjust the seller result (in a sales contract) or the buyer result (in a purchase contract). This buyer or seller result displays the impact of any applicable assay factoring.

Important: Because the adjusted seller/buyer result is used in determining the final result, this factoring does impact invoice calculations.

  7. Check Approved.

Note: The selection can be approved later if required; however, the assay exchange can only continue with an approved selection of the results. A selection that is not approved has no impact on snapshot and invoice calculations.

  8. Click Save.
  9. Continue the assay exchange with one of the following activities:
    1. Enter Results for Multiple Analytes in an Assay Exchange
    2. Enter Results for a Single Analyte in an Assay Exchange
