Use the Period Formats screen to define, edit and delete time period formats for generating time periods on the Time Periods tab.

Time Formats And Shift Names

The time format is built by entering a string made up of text and standard control parameters.

Note: If a Period length is a shift, enter the shift names.

For example, if there are two shifts of 12 hours in each working day, the shift names might be D/S and N/S for day shift and night shift, and the Period Length is set to 12 hours.

The first period will then be D/S and the second period N/S, and this sequence is repeated for as many periods as required.

Activity Steps:

  1. Display the Period Formats screen.

  2. To create a new period format, select New.

  3. To create a copy of a period format, select the format, then select Copy.

  6. In Start Time Format, enter your start format using text and control codes.

  7. In Finish Time Format, optionally enter your end format using text and control codes.

For example, to show a 3-digit period number padded with zeroes and a short date format for both the from and to dates, set Start Time Format to Start: "Period %N - %x " and set Finish Time Format to Finish: "to x%".

Note: To switch to a non-padded period number, replace "%N" with "%n".
