Description

Model vein structures using input desurveyed drillhole data.

Note: A Datamine eLearning course is available that covers functions described in this topic. Contact your local Datamine office for more details.

Command Overview

The Create Vein Surfaces task models closed volumes representing vein deposits between positive sample points.

At least one static drillhole file must be loaded. The drillhole object must include expected system fields plus:

  • At least one numeric or alphanumeric attribute containing at least one unique value to indicate the presence of a vein boundary.

Hangingwall and footwall points are modelled according to the intersection of each interval (FROM-TO) of the drillhole data set that is a positive match for the specified vein attribute value. Hangingwall and footwall surfaces modelled and subsequently enclosed to form a volume suitable for further analysis and cell/sub-cell modelling.

You can use this command to model:

  • A hangingwall surface
  • A footwall surface
  • A trend surface
  • An enclosed volume representing the vein or vein-like deposit.
