(Resource) Bar Chart Options: Non-work Periods
To display this screen:

Display the Bar Chart Options screen or Resource Bar Chart Options screen and select the Non-work Periods tab. The controls for both screens are identical.
Specify if and how you want to interrupt and/or highlight the Gantt bars or resource bar chart items during non-work periods based on the project's calendar.
Note: You can use these settings together with the Non-work Periods option in the Layout tab.
Choices on this screen relate to two distinct behaviours:

How (or if) non-work periods affect activity bars on the chart. This is determined by the Interrupt bars during non-work periods group:

No
Don't interrupt the bars. By default, this field is selected.

Interrupt during non-work days falling outside of the standard work-week
Select this file to interrupt any whole days of the year that are set to non-working periods due to holidays, vacation, site shutdown, and so on. This excludes days of the week that are always non-working. For example, if you have set a 5 day work week, Saturday and Sunday are non-working periods at all times and so are not interrupted.

Interrupt during all whole non-work days
Select this field to interrupt all standard or non-standard non-working days. For example, if you have set a 5 day work week, Saturday and Sundays are always non-working and so they are always interrupted.

Interrupt during all non-work periods
Select this field to highlight all whole and partial standard or non-standard non-working days. For example, if you have set a 5 day work week, Saturday and Sundays, with Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday as 24-hour shifts and Wednesday as an 8-hour shift (from 8AM to 4PM),.then Saturday and Sundays and the partial non-working period on Wednesdays are always non-working and so they are always highlighted.
