Define Head Grade Constraints (Advanced)

Head grade constraints can be used to model deposits where blending or process performance depends on maintaining a certain feed grade. All settings are optional.

If used these settings ensure the average head grade of a stope shape meets a minimum requirement, even if the shape is above cut off.

Activity steps

  1. Create or select a scenario.

  2. Configure a block model.

  3. Display the Economics screen.

  4. Define Optimization Settings.

  5. Specify Cut-off Methods and Values.

  6. Expand the Head Grade (Advanced) control group.

  7. Choose a Method:

    • Discrete – Apply a fixed value as the minimum allowable head grade (for example, 1.0 g/t).

    • Curve Table – Read a head grade target from a lookup table, typically based on zone or domain.

    • From Block Model – Read a head grade target from a designated field in the block model, allowing per-block variability.

Note: Negative cut off and head grade values are permitted.

  8. Save your settings.
