Define Optimization Settings

Optimization settings define your stope optimization objective, cut off and (optionally) head grade target. These settings have can have a significant impact on generated stope shapes.

Activity steps

  1. Create or select a scenario.

  2. Configure a block model.

  3. Display the Economics screen.

  4. Expand the Optimization Settings control group.

  5. Choose the optimization Objective:

    • Maximize Grade Above Cut Off – The grade or value per tonne is optimized based on material that is above the specified cut-off grade.

    • Maximize Total Material – The recovered metal or value is maximized whilst considering material below the cut-off grade

  6. Choose the Field Type. That is, are you optimizing against a Cut Off Grade or a Cut Off Value? The default is Cut Off Value.

  7. Save your settings.
