Configure Stope Strike

In MSO, stope strike settings control the stope’s horizontal direction (strike), either as a constrained range or using per-block attributes. This is especially useful in folded or structurally complex ore zones where the stope direction needs to follow geology or domain-specific design.

Note: The angle convention on this screen is degrees.

Activity steps

  1. Define your stope width and dip settings on the Shapes screen..

  2. Define where strike constraint values originate using Source:

    • Limited Range – Enter Minimum and Maximum strike values manually.

      • Set the Minimum and Maximum strike angle limits.

      • Set the maximum allowed change in strike angle between adjacent parts of the stope using Max. Change.

    • Block Model – Strike values are derived from the block model for the scenario.

      • Minimum Field – The name of the block model model field storing minimum strike values per block. Also set a Minimum Default to be used in the absence of model data.

      • Maximum Field - As above, but for maximum strike values. A Maximum Default is also required.

      • Max. Change Field – The field containing the maximum allowed strike deviation between adjacent blocks. A Max.Change Default is also required.

  3. Save your settings.

  4. Define your stope maximum stope side length constraints.
