Server is not Visible from the Client Computer

To use a server-based license, the server, and any licenses installed on it, must be visible to the client.

Information is passed between client and server using a network protocol.

TCP/IP is one protocol used by License Services in communicating between client computers and the License server, and in enabling network-based licensing. Other, more secure protocols are available and recommended (see Data Traffic Security).

What causes this client-server communication to break down, and what can you do about it?
