Link Data between Despatch Orders
This activity creates a one-off data link between two despatch orders. See Despatch Order Data Links.
The despatch orders in a data link:
- Cannot be parent despatch orders (PDOs) or child despatch orders (CDOs)
- Cannot be linked despatch orders from Linked Contracts or manual links
Security Note: You need the Allow the user to maintain despatch orders security right in the Contracts domain security rights group for this activity.
Activity Steps
- Open the Despatch Order.
- Select the Linked Despatch Orders tab.
- Perform one of the following steps:
- To select a despatch order to be the source despatch order for the current despatch order, right-click in the Linked Despatch Orders table and select Add Data Link » Source Despatch Order from the menu.
- To select one or more despatch orders to be the target despatch order(s) for the current despatch order, right-click in the Linked Despatch Orders table and select Add Data Link » Target Despatch Order(s) from the menu.
The Despatch Order Search screen displays.
- To apply a date range to the search, check Include Date Range and enter the Start Date and End Date. The search is limited by the Planned Despatch Date of the despatch orders.
- Enter the following search criteria as required.
- Organisations—Select from the organisations and companies defined on the Organisations panel of the Solution Explorer.
- Companies—Select from the internal companies defined on the Organisations panel of the Solution Explorer.
- Products—Select from the products and brands defined on the Material panel of the Solution Explorer.
- Search By—Object type to match if entering a Search Text. Select from Despatch Order, Contract, Organisation, Product or DO Status. Text searches are case-sensitive with SQL databases with a case-sensitive collation and with all Oracle databases.
- Click Search or press F3.
- To base the data link properties on a template, select the Data Link Template from the data link templates defined on the Organisations panel of the Solution Explorer.
- Check Selected for the required source despatch order or the required target despatch orders, as applicable.
Note: When searching for target despatch orders for a data link, you can search multiple times. Selected despatch orders remain selected, even if you change the search criteria for each search.
- Click OK.
MineMarket creates the data link(s).
- For each data link, update the following properties as required:
- Select how Weights And Assays are linked from Yes (default, but only for one source data link), No and Prorated By Traded Quantity.
- If Weights And Assays is Yes, select whether to Allow Assay Exchange. If checked, an assay exchange can be performed for each target despatch order using the assay rules and analyte settlement rules of the target contract. If unchecked, an assay exchange can only be performed for source despatch orders, and target despatch orders inherit the final results from their source despatch order. Default: As specified in the data link template, or else unchecked.
- Select how Cost Mirroring applies from:
- Full—Each rate detail that is selected is mirrored with its full inverted value.
- No (default, unless otherwise specified in the data link template)
- Prorated By Quantity—The value of rate details with a Rate Detail Basis of Fixed Amount or Fixed Amount Per Despatch Order is adjusted based on the traded quantity or else the relative quantities in the source despatch order and each target despatch order. Rate details with any other rate detail basis are mirrored with their full inverted value.
- Select whether to Create Invoices for the target despatch order(s) when the source despatch order is invoiced. Default: As specified in the data link template, or else unchecked.
- Select whether Risk Transfer applies so that when control passes for the source despatch order, control also passes for the target despatch order(s). Default: As specified in the data link template, or else unchecked.
Note: To display the properties of each data link, click the blue arrow in the Trades And Links diagram; or select the row of the data link in the Linked Despatch Orders table. See Data Link Templates for fuller descriptions of these properties.
- If Cost Mirroring is either Full or Prorated By Quantity:
- On the source despatch order, select the Service Charges tab.
- Select the Costs sub-tab.
- For each rate detail, select whether to Mirror Cost.
Note:
Taxes on costs or service charges are not mirrored with their rate detail and cannot be mirrored separately. However, taxes can be added to the mirrored rate details in the target despatch order(s). If the original rate detail is no longer mirrored, MineMarket deletes any taxes that were added to the mirrored rate detail.
If you mirror a finance rate detail on a purchase despatch order that has a data link to a sales despatch order, the mirrored cost will not display on the target despatch order. Finance rate details are not applicable to sales despatch orders.
If you have reinvoiced costs, only the original rate detail or the reinvoiced cost can be mirrored. You cannot mirror both the original rate detail and the reinvoiced cost. See Reinvoice Costs and Service Charges for a Despatch Order.
If an invoice has been raised for the mirrored cost, you cannot uncheck Mirror Cost for the original rate detail. A tooltip displays if this situation applies.
- Click Save.
Mirrored costs display on the Service Charges tab of the target despatch order(s) after the MineMarket Marketing service has processed the despatch order snapshots. For the mirrored costs in the target despatch order(s):
- The Provider is the Organisation of the source despatch order.
- The Activity, Name, Invoice Scope and Fixed Exchange Rates are editable. See Enter Fixed Exchange Rates.
- The default Activity is the Default Freight/Finance/Service Activity (if specified on the Options screen), or else the Activity of the rate detail in the source despatch order.
- The default Name includes the suffix (Mirrored).
- The Rate Source displays the hyperlinked source despatch order name.
- Subsequent mirroring is possible if the target despatch order is the source despatch order of another data link.
