Imported Data in Reconcilor
Reconcilor depends on imported data from the systems your site uses every day. This data can include mine dispatch movements, survey and stockpile data, grade control and other geological block models, crusher and plant data, mine plans and other operational information.
Before you begin analysis and reporting, you often need to answer three simple questions:
- Has the data arrived?
- Is it current for the period I want to review?
- Is it complete and suitable to use?
This topic explains how data enters Reconcilor, where to monitor imports and how to check whether data is ready to use.
How Data Enters Reconcilor
Data can enter Reconcilor in different ways, depending on how your site is set up. Some data can be scheduled to automatically import, while other data is uploaded manually, which is often useful for datasets such as survey volumes or adjustments.
- Automated imports – Data is brought in automatically from source systems on a schedule, for example from fleet management systems or plant databases. Import frequency is defined during implementation and may be hourly, daily or monthly.
- Manual uploads – Authorised users upload data files such as CSV files or spreadsheets based on the mappings defined in the Import Definitions Screen. Each file type must match the defined import template. After upload, Reconcilor validates the data before it becomes available for use and analysis. See Import Definitions.
Each import is configured for your site so that Reconcilor knows where the data comes from, how often it should refresh and how it should be interpreted.
How to Monitor Import Progress
Reconcilor gives you several ways to monitor imports as they run and after they finish.
- System Progress is located as an icon in the top panel and displays active imports and processes. See View System Progress.
- The Import Health Screen gives a summary of the latest result for each import definition, so you can quickly see which imports completed, failed or did not run. See Import Health.
- The Import Activity Screen gives the detailed history of individual import jobs. Use it when you need to inspect what happened during a particular run. See Import Activity.
If an import is still running, the data may not yet be ready to use and the system progress icon will advise what date the database is up to in processing.
How to Check Whether Data Is Available
Use the Data Overview Screen to check whether data is present for the period and location you want to work with. See Data Overview.
Data Overview helps you confirm which datasets are available, identify missing periods and see whether the data you are looking at is Live or Approved.
If expected data is missing from Data Overview, the next step is usually to check the related import status.
How to Check Whether Data Is Ready to Use
Data can be present in Reconcilor but still not be ready for reconciliation or analysis. For example, an import may have completed but the data may still contain issues that affect confidence in the results.
Use the Data Health Screen to review whether important issues have been detected in the data. Data Health helps you see which data categories need attention before you continue. See Data Health.
If you need more detail, see the supporting topics in the System Health section, including View Data Issue Details and Data Issue Trends.
How to Investigate Problems
If your data does not look current, complete or correct, use the following checks.
- Use the Import Health Screen to see whether an import failed or did not run. See Import Health.
- Use the Import Activity Screen to inspect individual import jobs and their results. See Import Activity.
- Use the Data Health Screen to review whether detected issues in the data may be contributing to the problem. See Data Health.
Where Import Configuration Is Managed
Most users only need to review import configuration when they are checking how data is set up or when Datamine Support or site administrator asks them to confirm an import setting. Users cannot update the import mappings.
- The Import Definitions Screen lists the configured imports. See Import Definitions.
- The Import Schedules Screen displays when scheduled imports run. See Import Schedules.
- The Import Revisions Screen displays how source data is mapped into Reconcilor. See Import Revisions.
A Typical Workflow
A simple way to check whether data is ready to use is:
- View System Progress to check if imports are still running.
- Check Import Health if you need to confirm whether imports completed successfully.
- Check Data Health to confirm there are no important issues that would affect your work.
- Check Data Overview to confirm the data is present for the required period and location.
Following this sequence helps you understand whether data has arrived, whether it is current and whether it is suitable to use for reconciliation and analysis.
