Destination General Settings

To access this screen:

  • In the Scheduling Data Setup screen, select any item in the Destinations group, including existing destinations.

  • In the Update Schedule screen, click the browse button next to Destinations. This route uses a restricted menu system, so only limited functionality is available.

The General Settings panel for each destination defines the destination name and type, maximum and processing capacity, material category, and constraint settings for any destination type.

It is displayed by default when any destination is selected from the menu on the left side of the Scheduling Setup screen, and when new destinations are created.

These functions are common to all destination types, including processes, stockpiles, and dumps. Labels can vary by destination type, for example Processing Costs can appear as Rehabilitation Costs. Where variations occur, all label variants are listed. Default values can also vary by destination type.

Note: Where destination settings are opened from the Update Schedule screen, some settings are disabled. Only quantitative destination settings are editable, such as Maximum Capacity and Processing Capacity. Non-relevant items in the menu on the left are also hidden.

Other settings for each destination type appear as additional tabs at the top of the screen.

Destination General Settings

The Destination group is used to define the destination name and abbreviation.

Activity steps:

  1. Enter a unique long name in Name.

  2. Review or edit Abbreviation. This short unique value is generated automatically and can be changed.

Maximum Capacity Settings

The destination Maximum Capacity group defines the total amount of material a destination can accommodate, if required. Capacity is defined as volume or mass. The mass unit depends on the data set and is usually tonnes.

Activity steps:

  1. Select Unlimited to allow infinite capacity (no destination capacity limit).

  2. Select Limited to to enforce an upper capacity limit.

  3. Enter the limit in Capacity using tonnes or volume units.

  4. Set the capacity unit using Tonnes or Volume.

  5. Enter Swell Factor if required. This value is applied to volume.

Processing Capacity Settings

The destination Processing Capacity setting is an important scheduling property. How this capacity is defined affects how material is treated during scheduling. Capacity is defined as the mass or volume of material that can be sent to the destination in one period. The mass unit depends on the data set and is usually tonnes.

See Destination Processing Capacity.

Constrain by Category / Range / Filter Settings

Destination material can be constrained using a combination of Constrain by Category, Constrain by Range, and Constrain by Filter parameters.

Destination Constraints

Processing / Rehandling / Rehabilitation Costs Settings

Each destination type can have an operational cost per period. The cost is defined per tonne using the provided table.
