Destination General Settings

Define the general destination settings

Destination General Settings

To access this dialog:

  • In the Scheduling Setupdialog, select any of the items in the Destinations menu group, including existing destinations.

  • In the Update Schedule dialog, select the browse button next to Destinations (restricted menus system, limited functionality will be available).

The General Settings panel for each destination is used to define the destination name and type, maximum and processing capacity, material category and constraint settings for any destination type.

It is displayed by default when any destination is selected using the menu on the left of the Scheduling Setup dialog, and also when new destinations have been created.

It is a common set of functions for all destination types, including processes, stockpiles and dumps, although labels may change, depending on the destination type (for example, Processing Costs may alter to Rehabilitation Costs). Where these variations occur, all label variants will be listed. Default values may also change depending the type of destination settings being displayed.

Where destination settings are accessed using the Update Schedule dialog, some settings on this panel will be disabled. Only quantitative destination settings will be editable, such as Maximum Capacity and Processing Capacity.

In addition, non-relevant items in the menu on the left will be hidden.

Other settings for each destination type will appear as additional tabs at the top of the dialog.

Field Details

Destination General Settings

The Destination group is used to define the destination name and abbreviation for the destination.

Name: enter a long, unique name for the destination.

Abbreviation: if required, edit the displayed short, unique name for the destination; this abbreviation is automatically generated but can be edited.

Maximum Capacity Settings

The destination's Maximum Capacity group is used to define the total maximum amount of material that a destination can accommodate, if required. This capacity is specified in terms of the volume or mass of the material. The mass unit is dependent on the data set and is usually tonnes.

Unlimited: select this option to set an infinite capacity i.e. no capacity limitations are set for the destination; it will 'receive' as much material as is scheduled unless restricted by other constraints (default).

Limited to: select this option to set an upper capacity limit for the destination; material will only be permitted at the destination up to the specified mass/volume limit.

Capacity: enter a value (tonnes or volume units) for the maximum capacity.

Tonnes: the current mass unit is Tonnes.

Volume: the current mass unit is Volume.

Swell Factor: enter a value. This will be applied to the Volume above.

Processing Capacity Settings

The destination's Processing Capacity is an important property when defining the schedule. The manner in which the capacity is defined will affect how material is treated during scheduling. The capacity of a destination is specified in terms of the mass or volume of material that can be sent there in a period. The mass unit is dependent on the data set and is usually tonnes.

Constrain by Category / Range / Filter Settings

A destination's material can be constrained by using a combination of Constrain by Category, Constrain by Range and Constraint by Filter parameters.

Processing / Rehandling / Rehabilitation Costs Settings

Each destination type can have an associated operational cost per period. The cost is defined per tonne using the table provided.
