Destination Constraints
To access this screen:
-
On the Scheduling Setup screen, select any item in the Destinations menu group, including an existing destination.
-
On the Update Schedule screen, select the browse button next to Destinations (restricted menus system, limited functionality is available).
This topic relates to functionality found on the Destination General Settings panel. Information displayed in this section relates to the currently selected destination.
You can constrain a destination’s material by using a combination of Constrain by Category, Constrain by Range and Constrain by Filter settings.
To constrain destinations by category:
- Display the Destination Constraints screen.
- In the Constrain by Category group, review the listed categories.
- For each category you want to allow, select Use.
- For each category you want to block, clear Use.
- If required, enter a value in Weighting to prioritise categories (0 means no weighting applied).
Note: Using the Weighting Factor. The values defined in the Weighting field are used when the Blend function is used. Low values indicate a low priority. The blending equations are set up with these values, each variable weighted by the corresponding number. If you want more of a certain category you increase the weighting. If you want more material to go to a destination then you increase all of the weighting factors for that destination relative to other destinations.
To constrain destinations by Range:
- Display the Destination Constraints screen.
- In the Constrain by Range group, locate the Property Range grid.
- In Property, select the data field you want to constrain (sourced from the Block Reserves (results) file).
- To enforce a minimum value, select Use next to Min and enter the minimum value.
- To enforce a maximum value, select Use next to Max and enter the maximum value.
To constrain destinations using a filter:
- Display the Destination Constraints screen.
- In the Constrain by Filter group, select a predefined name from Filter.
- Review Expression to confirm the filter expression associated with the selected filter.
