Haul Routes

To access haul routes settings:

Use Haul Routes settings screens to add, edit, or delete location node and connectivity parameters for Bench Exits, Intersections, Destinations, Dump Points, Roads and Sectors. In essence, use this screen to model a road network.

Note: You can also import and export haul route network data.

Haul routes are broken down into components:

  • Bench Exits.
  • Pit Exits.
  • Intersections (used where roads join).
  • Destinations.
  • Dump Points.

You can define these locations in separate points files and then import them, or you can manually enter them.

You can then define roads as direct lines between two points, or as individual strings within the same or different objects using the locations you created. If you use a strings file, you can use the auto feature to add roads that start and end at the locations you have already defined. Roads can have properties such as maximum speed and other factors.

Once you have defined roads, set up sectors, which come in three types:

  1. Ramp – from bench exit to pit exit.
  2. Surface – from pit exit to destination.
  3. Dump – from destination to final dump point.

You can export the haulage network separately if you need the same network but no other project settings. In addition, the exported network contains a copy of all strings used to generate the roads, whereas the general settings export requires the original string files to be available.
