Haul Routes: Sectors

Define haul route sectors

Sectors

To access these functions:

  • Using the Scheduling Setupdialog, select the Haul Routes icon on the left. Select the Sectors tab.

The Sectors tab is used to add, edit and delete ramp, surface and dump sectors and their settings. It is part of a collection of settings used to define haul routes.

What is a Sector?

A Sector consists of a number of Roads which, when combined, define a contiguous haulage path. For example, a number of ramp roads, each connecting one bench exit to the next bench exit and eventually a pit exit, would be combined to form a ramp sector defining the complete haulage path from a particular bench exit to a pit exit. Each bench would have a its own Sector. A number of contiguous haul route Sectors are required in order to define the total Haul Route for material being hauled from the source (Block) to its Destination.

The following types of Sectors are possible:

  • Bench Haul Sectors - automatically generated i.e. modelled implicitly as each Block is selected and the bench haul distance is calculated relative to the nearest Bench Exit

  • Ramp Haul Sectors - user defined sectors consisting of ramp roads

  • Surface Haul Sectors - user defined sectors consisting of surface roads

  • Dump Haul Sectors - user defined sectors consisting of dump roads.

These Sector types connect the following types of nodes:

  • Block and Bench Exits
  • Bench Exit and Pit Exit
  • Pit Exit and Destination
  • Destination and Dump Point.

Adding a Sector and Settings

  1.  In the Sectors group, select the required Sector Type tab,

  2. Click Add and then define the associated parameters in the Sector Settings group on the right.

The Surface Haul Sector or Dump Haul Sector can be used to model the haul route for reclaim from a Stockpile. In either case the Sector is selected during scheduling of stockpile material that is being reclaimed.

Ramp Sector Settings

The From Node will be a drop down list of Bench Exits and Pit Exits; the To Node will be a drop down list of Pit Exit nodes.

Surface Sector Settings

The From Node will be a drop down list of Pit Exits and the To Node will be a drop down list of Destination nodes.

Dump Sector Settings

The From Node will be a drop down list of Destinations and the To Node will be a drop down list of the Destination ID appended by the name Dump. For example the From and To nodes for a Destination Dump will be Dump and Dump-Dump.
