Data Ribbon

The Data ribbon supports Schedule views. It does not appear if a Flowchart, Pivot Table or Dashboard view is displayed.

This tab provides a range of tools that you can utilise to manage and constrain data, and specifically, the filtering, sorting and grouping of data displayed in the Tasks area, Gantt chart and Crosstab.


Group Commands
Filter

Selected Items – Create a filter to display only the selected / flagged items. This option is disabled in the Resource Bar Chart.

Bookmarked items – Create a filter to display only those tasks that are Bookmarked. This option is disabled in the Crosstab View and Resource Bar Chart.

Resource Filters – Select a resource filter from the drop-down list.

Assignment Filters - select an assignment filter from the drop-down list.

Task Filters - select a task filter from the drop-down list.

  •   Task Filters – Edit task filters in the Project Settings. See Task Filters.

  •  Highlight or Show only filtered tasks – If checked, all tasks are visible and filtered tasks are highlighted. When switched off, then only filtered tasks are visible.

  •  Clear Filter – Clear the current filter.

Sort

Task Sorts – Select a task sort from the drop-down list.

  •   Task Sort – Edit task sorts in the Project Settings. See Tasks Sorts.

  •   Ascending Sort – Sort tasks in ascending order based on the currently selected column in the task table.

  •  Descending SortSort tasks in descending order.

  •  Intelligent Scroll – Ensures that tasks stay in view while scrolling vertically when sorting by date.

Resource Sorts – Display the Resource Sort Settings screen.

Group

Task Groupings – Select a task grouping from the drop-down list.

  •  Task Groupings – Select this option to edit task groupings in the Project Settings. See Grouping.

  •   Refresh grouping – Refresh the current task grouping. 

Dependency Filter

Note: The Dependency Filter group is only enabled if data in the Tasks Area is selected. These settings don't apply to the Crosstab or Crosstab Report areas.

  • Predecessor level – Set the number of predecessor levels.

  • Successor level – Set the number of successor levels.

  • Apply – Filter dependent tasks in the Gantt chart. The filter only displays the specified number of predecessor and successor task levels for the selected task. Select the button again to deactivate the dependency filtering. See Filter dependencies.

Advanced Filter
  •   Filter on cell value – Generate a filter based on the current cell's value.

  •   Filter by form – Edit the filter that was created by filtering on the cell's value.

  •   Clear filter – Clear the current filter.

  •   Column filters – Enable column filters in the current table.

  •   Display only selected items – Create a filter to display selected items only. See Filter Selected Items.

  • Auto Filters – Select a filter from the drop-down list generated by the Generate AutoFilters function.

    •   Generate AutoFilters - generate filters based on the values in the currently selected columns.
